The Inspection Procedure
The full, authoritative procedure used by The Server Inspectorate. Inspectors and server management are expected to follow this document.
Download procedure (PDF)How an inspection works
Every inspection follows the same five stages, in order, regardless of server size or theme.
Servers are identified through community recommendations, partnership requests, or scheduled reinspections. The Inspectorate independently selects which servers to inspect — being recommended does not guarantee inspection.
Two inspectors (a senior and a secondary) independently rate the server across all defined sections, both in the Discord and in-game. Member and staff opinions are gathered anonymously through a randomly selected sample. Server management is NOT notified at this stage — inspections are conducted independently.
Each inspector signs off only once they have completed every section, validated the server's permanent invite, and reached the required number of member and staff opinions.
TSI management reviews the case, can adjust ratings or comments where appropriate, and approves it for publication. AI-generated summaries, headlines and tier are finalised at this stage.
Once the report is live, server management receives a formal notice with a direct link to the published report. This notice is a record of completion — it is explicitly NOT an advertisement and the report is published regardless.
